Screenshot stopped working on my iMac

I can no longer take screenshots using Shift-Command-4, or -3. I'm on a 2015 iMac with ElCapitan. I've checked my keyboard shortcut settings and rebooted. Nothing happens. It worked fine until a few days ago. I use it all the time. Why the sudden change.
