Audio Randomly Stops When Using Headphones

I use ATH-M50x's into the headphone jack on the computer, and I have no other problem with the headphones. All is hunky dory until, seemingly at random, all output of audio stops. It appears as though Logic just stops recognizing the headphones, as when I open Preferences>Audio>Output it doesn't give me a headphone option and reverts to the onboard speakers until I unplug and plug the headphones back in, or restart the program. Not a world breaking problem but extremely annoying, all help is appreciated!
