I have a new MacBook Air. How can I import photos if the cable does not fit into the new MacBook Air?

I tried to put the same cable that I did when I had a different MacBook. It was the MacBook Pro. The

MacBook Air does not have the same outlet to place the cable. So how do I import photos from my iPhone to the MacBook Air? Don't you think they should all have the same outlets (I don't know the

official name for them).

The new MacBook Air has USB-C ports. This is the cable you need.
