Annotating PDFs in Notes

Since moving on from OneNote I have reverted to using the OG Apple Notes App.

It has been sufficient until I tried to annotate some notes in the form of a PDF.

Firstly the PDF can't be imported to the note itself, only the first page or a small icon. This should be an option to make the note neater but shouldn't be the only option.

Once I got over that I found that it was impossible to write on the pdf using the Apple Pen without accidentally scrolling the thumbnails on the right-hand side. There should be an option to remove or relocate the thumbnails to avoid this.
