when i pause something it stops all audio not just the video i am pausing

the best feature of Big Sur so far able to turn off the audio globally

..someone has asked this question before, when i pause something it stops all audio not just the video i am pausing.

I don't know what to do anymore. I have music playing in Spotify and quickly play a video online and when I pause or stop it it stops all the audio on my Mac.

and it doesn't matter if you use Safari or other browser.

Any tips?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

When pausing audio, such as by using the space bar, it should affect only the active window or tab in your web browser. If that is not what you're experiencing, we recommend testing the issue in safe mode: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support and a new user account: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support.

Should you continue to have trouble, don't hesitate to respond back. If you do, please include the following information:

How are you pausing your audio?
What is the exact macOS Big Sur version number you are running? Example: Version 11.2.1. You can get this under the Apple  menu > About This Mac.
