Family watch set up

My daughter is receiving texts on her watch, that has been set up with family sharing, from numbers that are not in her contacts lists. They are from Apple ID's but not approved ones.

Aren't I supposed to receive a notification when she is contacted by someone who is not in her approved contacts? I haven't received anything.

Hi there,

It sounds like you may have set up Communication Limits for your daughter's device, is that right? We'd like to provide some information.

"Control who your children can communicate with — throughout the day and during downtime. These limits apply to Phone, FaceTime, Messages, and iCloud contacts. This is also where you can decide and manage which contacts are available on an Apple Watch paired through Family Setup. Communication to known emergency numbers identified by your iPhone or Apple Watch cellular carrier is always allowed. You need to have your iCloud contacts enabled to use this feature." You can find more details about Screen Time and Communication Limits here: Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

For more information on trusted contacts, please check out the "Set up shared contacts and Schooltime" part of this page: Set up an Apple Watch for a family member

Take care!
