Music not showing within iTunes

Hi there, I have a 12 Pro with quite a lot of music already loaded on the phone. These are songs that I have stored in folders on my laptop. I have a new 2021 selection of music I am trying to add. When I open iTunes, I have moved the music into the library within iTunes so that part is OK. However, on my phone under device, it shows absolutely no music on the phone! This isn't the case as there's about 1500 songs on there at the moment. I cannot get the 2021 songs on to my phone at all. I have tried a sync and it's done nothing at all. The phone is up to date on the latest software. Please can someone help?!

All the music you want to put on the iPhone should be in your library. Whatever you've already got on it, and anything new that you want to add. If that isn't the case see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - Apple Community.

Assuming that is done try Edit > Preferences > Devices > Reset Sync History (if available) and then try syncing once more.

If that hasn't helped try signing out of the iTunes Store on the device and then try again.

Hmm. Is the music you do have on your phone downloaded to it, or are you seeing your purchase history with cloud links?

You should be able to click the iPhone icon in this location,

then set up a selection of playlists to sync to the iPhone and sync.

Hi there, thank you very much for your help! So I've looked again and I have added each individual file from my 2021 folder on my desktop into the library. I can see that these are in the library and the tracks play which is great! However, when I go to sync it they do not go on to the phone. I have tried the reset sync in preferences and this hasn't done anything either. I have then tried to sign out from my iTunes account but I can't find where this is on my phone? I have a 12 Pro - I've been googling and cannot find the right path to follow! Also, I am seeing absolutely no music against the phone when plugged in (please see attached screenshot) - is this normal?!
