Safari Translate

I am trying to translate a webpage from Spanish to English and I looked online for how to do this using Safari on my Mac.

According to Apple there’s a translate icon that is on the search bar, but this isn’t showing on my Mac. I don’t know if this is only available in Big Sur, but I have it on my iPad, but not iMac.

This is what I found online, but it doesn’t seem to work on Mojave

“Starting with Safari 14.0, Apple included a translation feature directly in the browser. As of this writing, the feature is in beta, but fully functional. If your Mac is running the latest version of macOS Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, or newer, you can access the translation feature.”

I am running Mojave 10.14.6 and Safari 14.0.3

Any help would be great. Thanks

Hello there The Blues,

While Safari 14 is available on Catalina and Mojave macOS versions, certain features still require Big Sur for full functionality. This includes the built-in translation features as well.

While there may be third-party Safari plugins or extensions that you may be able to use to add this functionality to Mojave, you'll need to update to macOS Big Sur for the access to the built-in translation features described here: Translate a webpage in Safari on Mac (Beta)

When preparing for an update, be sure to create a Time Machine backup and double check that any essential apps that you use, are also compatible with the new version. In some cases you may need to update those apps as well, or check compatibility with the app developer.

We hope this helps! Take care.
