usb hub and water

I just noticed that the Lightning connector on my iPhone's charging cable was submerged in a glass of water. It's probably been there over 24 hours. There was blue-green crud in the water. I'm trashing the cable, but would like advice on whether to replace my USB hub too. It seems to be working. I have a "USBee" power meter I could test it with if that would help.

The "blue-green crud" is, most likely, copper oxidation, meaning that either or both the Lightning cable end or USB ports on the hub were exposed to excessive moisture. At this point, I would replace the hub as well, especially since USB can carry power, you don't want to have your phone (or any other device) connected to it should it short.

No, if the hub was never submerged, there shouldn't be a need to replace it. I would seriously doubt that any water would have worked its way through the cable to the hub ... unless the hub was positioned below the level of the Lightning end of the cable and water ran down the cable itself. Just double-check the hub to see if appears to have any issues; otherwise, it should be fine.
