FedEx Charging for Delivery

I have recently bought an Apple Watch Series 6 and had it delivered to the UK. About 2 weeks after recieving the delivery I have a letter from FedEx saying I owe £30 for the delivery, but the delivery is stated as free on Apples website.

Should I be paying this, or is it something that Apple should be covering the costs of.

It sure does not sound like anything that Apple or FedEx would do. My bet is that it is indeed a SCAM of some type. Guessing if you go online to your order you will see FREE shipping or shipping included on the invoice. Again I have never heard or had a separate shipping invoice for anything I have ordered from APPLE and I have used them for many items for many years.

Have you talked with anyone at Apple?

This happened with a book I ordered from Apple (back when they printed books). Of the 6 books I had ordered, one was shipped from a different location than the other 5. This one book, also shipped via FedEx, actually had shipping fees. I immediately called Apple and explained the situation. They advised me to pay the FedEx charge and they would refund the amount to me. I did as they suggested, and within a couple days, Apple had indeed refunded the entire shipping fee.
