trying to recover old files on broken ipad

I have this old iPad from when I was little it won't turn on or charge I'm wondering if any of the data on it can be recovered.

How do I know if my iPad has been completely erased ? I will be trading in my old iPad as soon as the trade-in kit arrives. So I erased the old iPad to the best of my ability. This chat is simply to find out if there’s a way to verify that my old iPad is completely empty of all my files? thx

Data can be recovered if (and only if) you backed up your iPad before its demise.
