Migration Assistant... for why(?) Did you just upgrade the macOS, from what to what would be helpful insight.

Where were these Documents stored? Default directories in default locations, or you had relocated these documents to some other location...(?)

Please detail what you did. Did you erase and install? Did you create an account before migrating? A common mistake is to create an account with the same name if the one you’re about to migrate.

How many user accounts are on your mac now? How are they named? Go to System Preferences->Users & Groups to see it.

Have you check in iCloud Drive ?
