Ethernet connection

Since I got my MacBook, I have not been able to connect and navigate the internet through an ethernet connection, even after receiving tech help, keeping my device updated, and buying/using the specific adapter that is needed through apple.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

Got Ethernet selected in the Network Sys Prefs?

Hold down on on it and drag it to the top of the list of options.
