Mail from contacts

Hi, since upgrading to Big Sur, the mail icon in the contacts app opens gmail instead of mail app.

I can't find the setting to change this, since I migrated to iCloud from gmail, this is very annoying.

Any help would be welcome!

When I choose to send an email from Contacts, my Mac automatically opens Gmail. Nothing I do seems to change that behavior and I want it to come from Apple Mail, not Gmail. Automatically Gmail is opened when I choose to send an email from my Contacts. Sorry, I don't want Google to have all my mail. Even though my iCloud account is top in preferences, nothing seems to change the behavior and I can find nothing online how to change it. I want the sequence: Contact chosen>email icon clicked>Apple Mail opens a new email.

email contacts I would appreciate if someone could tell me where I can edit the drop-down contacts menu in apple mail? I'm talking about which email address suggestions appear when you start to type a name of a contact. I've done it in the past but have unfortunately forgotten where to access this list. This is specifically Apple based. Laptop and IOS. Thank you.

Can't add new gmail contact in Apple Contacts app on Macbook I am running Macbook Air OS Monterey 12.6.2. Have all my email accounts feeding into Apple mail app. Still have the problem of not being able to add a new gmail contact - after I enter the name, the whole contact card disappears. So my workaround is to create a "seed" new contact on my iPad, then wait for it to sync, then edit it on my macbook. This is real PAIN - has occurred in previous OS versions as well.why cant this be fixed???

Please see this Link from Apple on your topic. Once Mail App with iCloud mail setup - the mail in Contacts should default to iCloud mail
