I tried out a software suit which installed Audio Units v3. These did not pass Logic's validation but could not be removed from the plugins manager (although they where of course not activated).
But where are these Av3 files located for manual removal? I have had this issue before and really don't understand how to remove AUv3. They are impossible to find anywhere. I have searched extensively in both my logal and root library. Nothing.
I've learned elsewhere that AUv3 are reemoved when the app they where bundled with is removed. Seems to be correct when I try, so I guess AUv3 aren't "located" anywhere but part of an application.
Is that the case really?
What if I want to use the standalone but not the plugins?

You turn them "off" by removing them from the Library/Audio/Plugins/Components folder
So AUv3 is not really compatible with Intel Macs?
That could explain why I've had issues. But the problem is that I've had AUv3 showing up in Logic, usually not working, but the only way I've found to remove them is to completely remove the 3rd party application associated with the plugin, the standalone version of the same software that is. But what if I only want to remove the (usually non working) plugin. Where are the actual AUv3 plugins in the file structure?
Yes, but do you realize that I'm talking about AUv3? The new kind of Audio Units, that is. I've come across them a couple of times now.
These are not to be found in the Components folder, seems to work differently and I don't understand how to separate the plugins from the standalone. They seem to be integrated.

Strange that it's impossible to find an answer to this.
Should've read all the replies. Disregard my answer. I'll look into it. I've not yet heard of them, not even of AUv2, only VST3.
