Thunderbolt 2 Ports

I have an early 2015 MacBook Pro with two thunderbolt 2 ports. I can't find any Thunderbolt 2 adapters which would work with today's USB-C devices. Is there such a thing? It would have to be an adapter with a Thunderbolt 2 Male and an USB-C female. I am beginning to think that the Thunderbolt 2 ports have gone the way of the dinosaurs. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Your summary is right. There was little at the time and almost nothing now. You can use it as a minidisplay port for an external monitor, or for data transfer to something with Thunderbolt3. About the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter - Apple Support
