I set up my son's i11, trying to do parent controls, but now all my contacts are shared with him and he's getting my text messages. How do we each have our own identity but I still have some control?

I need help resetting up my son's phone. I tried to set it up so I'd have some parental control and using my apple id, but now he gets all text messages sent to me and I don't receive them, our identifications seem to be mixed together
