I can't get a cd out of the slot of my iMac 10.10. It is the installer disk 2. I want to donate this item, and the opening welcome page comes up first which is perfect. I'd like to get the CD out before I get involved with any setup, because I want it clean wfor the next owner. Any ideas, I have tried lots of things from Google advice, no luck

Try holding the mouse (left) button down while rebooting. Failing that, start normally, open the Terminal application in Applications/Utilities: wait for it to settle down then type
drutil tray eject
and then hit return. If it's a mechanical jam none of all this is going to work, and you will need the services of an Apple-authorised service engineer.

Give this a try: slip a piece of paper/thin cardboard (about the thickness of a business card) in the slot and under the leading edge of the CD. Then turn on the Mac holding down the Mouse button. See if that will get the CD over the edge of the drive for ejection.

Was one of the things you tried starting up the computer while holding down the eject key on the keyboard?

I want to try the terminal method. What do I press when the computer starts up? I tried Command Q, I tried the obvious eject button on the keyboard. I cant seem to get into terminal. on start up.
tried holding the mouse with rebooting, no luck. Cant get to terminal in applications... I would have to set up registration again, and I already erased and installed the OS
