i have been waiting for two hours to transfer from iPhone 8 to new 12pro is this normal

The time it takes to transfer depends on transfer method and amount of data. Since these variable change from person to person, there’s no “normal” amount of time for the transfer to complete. If you feel it’s been an too long, you can try a different method or network.
