Can you get to Settings, general in the new phone and navigate around?

If you can, then you should be able to turn off the old one and see how much data is on the new one.

Then you can decide whether to work with that, or erase all content and settings and start again.

An hour or so.

If the remaining part is downloading apps then it can take a while as they come from App Store and depend on WiFi speed.
