Ipad Air 2 Randomly restarts

My iPad Air 2 would just restart randomly even when on a full battery. I noticed it

would get warm below the sim and volume buttons and occasionally to keep it on

for use, I would place a pack of ice on the area-even that has failed me once.

At times I would plug it in and it jumps to 100%, unplug and you see the real

percentage. I use and original Anker cable with an Oem Sony charger. Am

beginning to assume this is a hardware issue. Please help as am about to

abandon this device rating it a failure. ( restarted over 5 times as I wrote

this- I had to move to my PC)
