airdrop

I would like to transfer files (movies, documents, etc.) from my iMac to my MacBook Pro. However, when I select the file and click "share - airdrop" the iMac finds my iPhone but not my MacBook Pro. Does anyone know what the issue might be? Thanks!

Airdrop won't see mac Trying to Airdrop large files from my Mac to my wife's Mac. It won't work. I've opened the Firewall to system events, so it's not that. Both Macs are set to be discovered by Everyone. Both Macs running macOS 11.6.1

AirDrop does not work on my iMac I wanted to transfer a file from my iPhone to my iMac using AirDrop, but it is blank in the Finder. I only have the following: "AirDrop lets you share instantly with people nearby. To share with someone using a Mac, ask them to go to AirDrop in the Finder." I know that both Bluetooth and our WiFi are on. Also, both the iMac and the iPhone are on the same WiFi network. My iMac was bought in July 2011 and the OS is macOS Sierra. Is my problem related to the OS, or something I did not configure? Thanks for your help Apple Community. Phil

Ok, I'll check it out. The iMac is a 2013 and the MacBook Pro is 2010. Thanks!
