Forwarding text messages from iPhone to IPad

I’ve reviewed Apple support articles on setting up text message forwarding from iPhone to iPad. My options within Message do not align with the support article. There is no option for “Text Message Forwarding” within my Messages menu options.

I also cannot get my iPhone set up as an option on my iPad within iMessage. The only options for me are my email addresses. I cannot get my iPhone number to appear in list of options to send/receive messages from.

Anyone have an answer as to how to get my phone and iPad to sync on text messages/iMessages?

You must explicitly enable Text Message Forwarding for your iPad on your iPhone.

On your iPhone:

Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - set to ON - and explicitly enable your iPad from the list of devices.

Also ensure that Messages in iCloud is enabled on both your iPhone and iPad:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Messages - set to ON
