Native VPN client does not save password

Hello,

I am using MacOS BigSur and I have setup a fully working VPN connection using the onboard VPN client.

The problem is that I have to type the password every time although I tried to save it multiple times. This is true for one out of 3 connections I have. The others store the password so that I don't have to retype.

Is there a way to force the password to be stored ?

Thanks in advance!

Hello nagilode,

We're glad you thought to ask Apple Support Communities about the issue you're having with your Mac not saving the password for one of your VPN connections. If you haven't already, check keychain for the VPN entry, delete it, then try to save it again. Here are some guides to help locate the entry in keychain, just in case:

View the information stored in a keychain on Mac

Manage passwords using keychains on Mac

Let us know how that goes.

Take care.
