Rosetta Stone on MacBook Air M1 : Software Update[1439:40665] Package Authorization Error: 071-08933

Hello everyone. I have been trying to install Rosetta Stone 2 on a MacBook Air M1.

From the GUI it fails. From the command line I get this error:

2021-03-0219:07:53.142 softwareupdate[1439:40665] Package Authorization Error: 071-08933: Package reference com.apple.pkg.RosettaUpdateAuto is missing instalIKBytes s attribute

Install failed with error: An error has occurred. Please try again later.

I have searched for the error code but google has no info. Any ideas?

I fixed it by going to /System/Library/CoreServices and double-clicking in Rosetta 2 Updater.

I have tried both command line and the app as suggested but have the same issue still. I am on BigSur 11.15. This is likely affecting a problem I have running Docker for Mac.

Did you ever get to resolve this error? I have the exact same issue, installing on the command line results in an error, installing from the updater app also results in an error.

yeah well when doing this the sudo uninstall file ___ says : sudo: uninstall: command not found so that's a dead end atm

If the command is not found the file is not installed

you can type this code line below in Terminal, then type A to install the software.

softwareupdate --install-rosetta
