Problems with Facetime on Macbook Air

I have Macbook Air and I can not log into my facetime or get text messages on my computer from my phone. Whenever I try to log in to facetime it says, "An error occurred during activation. Try again". Does anyone know how to fix this because I would like to be able to use these features with such a nice computer?

Hello again, dodgedart05!

Thanks for getting back with us about this issue. Let’s look into this a bit further. Is this something that has previously worked on your Mac? Are you using OS X Mavericks 10.9 or later? Does your Apple ID work in other applications and sites? Does this occur on multiple networks?

Please let us know the answer to these questions and we can continue working on this with you. Take care!
