Disable autoplay after importing a song into Windows iTunes

When using the "Add Folder to Library" option and selecting several folders, music will start playing while music is importing. I cannot pause the music because the import dialog takes focus. This is an incredibly annoying feature. If I want to import a giant collection of music without having the music play, I have to mute my computer. So, for the very long task of importing songs into iTunes and transferring my phone, I can't use the sound on my computer.
