I'm gonna buy an Apple USB SuperDrive and I wan't to know if I can simply connect it to the Mac, put a CD into the Apple USB SuperDrive and then play the CD from my Mac?
Or do I need to install some software in order to play CD's from the Apple USB SuperDrive?

Hi,
You don't need to install driver, just connect Apple USB SuperDrive to read and play CD/DVD.
If your MacBook Pro doesn't have USB port, you need to get USB-C to USB adapter which is available at online or retail Apple Store.

You should be able to play the CD directly without any extra software. Either iTunes, or the Music app if your Mac is running macOS Catalina or Later can play music CD's directly.
Data CD's should be accessible from the Finder.
Do note that the Super Drive cannot play Blu-ray or 4K Blu-ray Discs.
