Can't add Services shortcut in Keyboard preferences

Hello,

Unlike the App Shortcuts pane, the Services pane doesn't have a +/- to add/remove shortcuts. I had a custom Services shortcut inherited from pre-Big Sur but it broke. When I replaced the workflow file in the file system, the shortcut entry disappeared and I can't find an obvious way to add it back again.

Any help appreciated. I'm on 11.2.2.

All the relevant Services should automatically appear on the list.

When I create a new Service in Automator, save it, and go to System Preferences->Keyboard->Shortcuts, it is there.

Sometimes it can be difficult, as there can be a lot of them, so look closely.

You can also twirl closed several categories of Services. If you know which category to look for, this may help. For example, if this is for text, close the rest:

Thanks for the reply, Luis.

So, you seem to be suggesting that if I save my workflow to whatever default folder Automator suggests, Keyboard/Shortcuts preferences will pick it up.

However, when I save my workflow, the default folder being suggested is my Desktop.

So, then I wondered if I should be creating a Service vs. a Workflow (as you suggest in your response). However, the only options I have do not include "Service". Did you mean something else?

Thanks

Tony.

Sorry for not being clearer.

"Quick Action" is the new synonym for "Service". I realize that this is not obvious.

For some reason, Automator uses the name "Quick Action" but the name "Service" (which has existed for many years) is what appears in the menus (in the Finder contextual menu and in each application's menu). The name "Quick Actions" appears in Automator and also is used in the Finder "Show Preview Options".

I would rather they had stayed with "Services" throughout.
