Album Artwork screensaver does not work with albums in Apple Music library
Hello. I'd like to use the Apple Music library as a source for artwork in the "Album Artwork" screensaver. However, I only see "Your music library does not contain any songs with artwork." Perhaps that is because the songs are on Apple Music? I tried the advice posted in other threads:
- Restart your Mac.
- Make sure Automatically update artwork is enabled in Music preferences. In the Music app go to Music > Preferences > Advanced > enable Automatically update artwork.
- Reset Music Store Cache. In the Music app go to Music> Preferences> Advanced> Reset Music Store cache: Change Advanced preferences in Music on Mac
However, the work around doesn't work for me. I'm on Big Sur by the way. If this is a shortcoming in the screensaver, could this please be addressed? It seems like it may have been an oversight. It also seems technically possible since the Music app has all the artwork cached at "~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iTunes/". It could simply be a matter of scraping that in addition to the standard location. Please Apple!
