How to delete Google Drive app when it wont' let me

Hi all! I installed Google Drive just a few days ago because a client suggested it. Turns out, we couldn't make it work the way we wanted it to. So I want to remove it from my computer. Everything I've read online says I can just drag the application to my trash. But... when I try to do that, I get a message saying it can't be deleted because it's running. Except... it's not. When I hit Opt+Command+Escape, it doesn't show up in the list of programs that are running. So... I'm in a Catch-22. How can I remove it when it thinks it's running? Thanks!

Try staring up in Safe Mode and deleting it. - https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/start-up-your-mac-in-safe-mode-mh21245/mac
