Can't export large, 30 min videos from iPhone to Photos on MacBook Pro

Hi, I have a series of 4 large, 30 min video clips on my iPhone that were shot today for my friend's business. The videos play fine on my phone. I can watch them, hear them, everything. When I plug my phone into my MacBook Pro, the videos show up. When I select one and click, 'import selected' nothing happens. Photos redirects to the import folder but nothing new is there. I try selecting all four videos at once, nothing happens again. I click, 'import ALL', nothing happens. If I select other photos or shorter video clips, the DO import to the Photo app on my MacBook.

AirDrop: Does not work. t says failed every time.

Back up to iCloud and download from iCloud website? Does not work. I backed up my Iphone to iCloud just now, 100% com-lets, and todays ottos and videos are NBOT visible in iCloud, though I do pay for the 2 TB iCloud option.... It's as if they don't exist according to iCloud. I can only see them on my phone.

So, somehow, my pale products are not liking these big clips and is giving my major trouble simply trying to get these perfectly functioning video clips from my iPhone to my computer.

Lifelong apple customer,

Please help,

Thanks, Andrew M

Hello Jopnar,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having trouble transferring 4 large 30 minute videos from your iPhone to your Mac. The videos play fine on your iPhone, and you are able to import smaller video files to the Photos library on the Mac, but not these files.

We'll do our best to help. To rule out any software issues is your Mac and iPhone fully updated? Staying up to date helps ensure your device can function the best. In case you need to update back up, your iPhone and Mac.

Do you have iCloud Photos enabled on your iPhone and Mac? Uploading these files over the internet would require a very fast, stable network connection. It would be better to transfer these files locally to your computer or an external hard drive formatted for Mac. Try importing one video file at a time using the Image Capture application on your Mac.

The following resources will help you with this:
