Why is Apple Music using so much data? I listened to 2 songs on cellular data and it used 1.6GB of data. Also, how can I change the steaming quality?

Regarding the cellular data already used, where are you seeing this info? What time-frame was the data used over? Were any songs downloaded?

I have high quality streaming off in the cellular section turned off and while I understand it will use some cellular data, the last month or so it’s used an extremely large amount of data for streaming music. Most songs are downloaded to the cloud, but not fully downloaded on my phone. I’ve used Apple Music for years and it wasn’t until relatively recently that it started really utilizing a large amount of data. It’s extremely frustrating and I want to know why it is suddenly doing this.
I reset my cellular data statistics every month and monitor how much data the apps are using. I listened to two songs and it used 1.6 GB. That is absurd.

Can you tell us where you're seeing that listening to two songs has used 1.6GB? Are you seeing this using the steps outlined on the following page, or somewhere else? Check the cellular data usage on your iPhone and iPad
Do those two songs still show the iCloud icon next to them in your Music library?
