Have you selected your new iPhone device as the source of your shared location?

Find friends and share your location with Find My - Apple Support

To change the device that you're sharing your location from, open Find My on that device. Select the Me tab, then choose Use this [device] as My Location

Since it’s a new iPhone purchase, have a chat with Apple Support.

Use the Get Support link in the upper right to contact the folks at Apple.
