I keep getting a “Set up your Apple Watch” pop up on my iPhone even though the watch is already paired with the phone and has been for a year

This is so bizarre ... my Apple Watch has been successfully paired with my iPhone for a year! No problems. Now suddenly I keep getting this “set up your Apple Watch” window taking up half my iPhone screen every time I pick it up. I even tried to do it in an attempt to get rid of the window but of course I cannot because the watch is already paired with the phone. I just want these incorrect reminders to stop... any ideas would be much appreciated!

Hi,

Before following any steps please make sure to create a backup of your device.

It sounds like either one or both device might have an software issue. Try updating your iOS device first and later on Apple Watch and examine the results.

If issue still persists, unpair your Apple Watch via Apple Watch app on your iPhone and then go for Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings via Apple Watch device.

Afterwards set up your Apple Watch via Apple Watch app on iOS device.
