Serial number to a Mac

currently locked out of my Mac pro for the next 40 minutes and I need to find out what the serial number is how do I do that?

Mac Pro 42 lb silver tower 2006-2012 has sticker on an upright-facing surface near the I/O area.

MacBook Pro has it silkscreened on the bottom in gray ink.

A bright light may help in either case.
