Incomplete songs on iTunes library

I downloaded many CDs years ago when I wanted to get rid of the physical collection. In the past year more and more songs don’t reach the end. They go silent before finishing. I can’t re download them because I don’t have the CDs anymore, and they haven’t been purchased from iTunes. Am I at a loss?

Export your Music Files:

First And Foremost:

Backup First: Make a backup of your device using iCloud or your computer. That way you can have something to restore you iPhone from, should anything go wrong with the update installation.

Then, Restore:

Go Here: Back Up and Restore your iTunes Library on your PC - Apple Support

If Applicable: Convert a Song to a Different File Format with the Apple Music app or iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
