Drop down menu when I hit speaker on a call

Since Friday March 5, every time I hit the speaker icon to put my call on speaker I am presented with a menu choice of iPad, iPhone, and Audio.

I checked my Bluetooth settings, the only divide I’m connected to is my Durango (which will only connect when the Durango is running and I’m near it). I checked for calls on other devices and that feature is turned off.

the iPhone 11 is a company provided phone.

Hi there TCBDeadman,

From what we can tell, you're seeing unexpected audio options appear when tapping the audio button during phone calls on your iPhone 11. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities and we can provide some guidance.

"To use the iPhone receiver or speaker for calls, do any of the following:

  • Answer a call by tapping the iPhone screen.
  • During a call, tap Audio, then choose iPhone or Speaker Phone.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth device, unpair it, or move out of range.
  • Go to Settings , tap Bluetooth, then turn off Bluetooth."

With that said, the options you're seeing are normal. Have a look at the support articles below to learn more:

Take care.

So even though my iPhone has been connected to my Durango for a few months, and this issue started happening a week and a half ago, this is normal.

My vehicle needs to be turned on for the blue tooth to connect. My vehicle is the only thing connected to my phone via blue tooth.

Just when I'm starting to think Apple is a good product, something stupid like this happens and then I'm essentially told that to fix the problem I have to disable the blue tooth on my phone (which means I get a ticket if I answer my phone while I'm driving without blue tooth).

I don't have this issue with my personal phone, which is an android and it has multiple devices connected to it via blue tooth.

Apple sucks if the answer to a new problem is "the options you're seeing are normal". It's not normal when it wasn't happening months ago, and now it is happening.

I'm not disabling blue tooth on the iPhone, unless you're going to pay my tickets, and make arrangements with Manitoba Public Insurance that you will take all the lost points that I will have on my license for answering my phone while I'm operating a motor vehicle.
