I want to upgrade my mom for her birthday to a newer version of apple tv. she has the 2nd or 3rd gen. Some of her apps tell her she has to upgrade to Apple TV 4k.
Ive seen some comparisons about the titled subject.
Does the HD Version offer everything app wise as the 4k version, due to being the same generation? or do I truly need the 4k version?
Reason i ask, she doesnt plan on owning a 4k tv anytime soon.
The App Store is the same for both models. I have only seen one (game) app that requires the Apple TV 4K specifically over the HD unit (presumably because of its faster chip).
