How do I get my entire Shortcuts automation to play off my HomePod?

I created an automation on my phone for the morning, but how do I get it to run off my HomePod, not my phone that I created the automation on?

I created a scene on the home app first that would automatically play a song at a certain time off my my HomePod app but once I created my automation in the shortcuts app, the first thing is the song but everything after that plays off my phone. (the next thing is a speak text: “good morning” and then the weather) how do I get my entire automation to play off my HomePod?

When you create an automation, select the HomePod. Then “Test this Automation” to see if you did it right.

Try creating them in the Home App- Automations. Be sure to tap Done

FWIW I don’t see an option to use an iPhone. You might be creating music alarms in the clock App?I also think this only works with an Apple Music Subscription- you are choosing music from your library (iCloud)


Make sure the HomePod icon you selected is white (not grey) and says Play:
