Cannot reset 2018 homepod. Volume buttons keep blinking

Unfortunately this behaviour isn't addressed at Identify status lights on HomePod - Apple Support.

Try the Press top of HomePod to reset it steps from Reset HomePod - Apple Support once more, paying attention to the timing.
