Hello, I just saw an article about the inbuilt scanner in the Notes app, but when I open Notes there’s only a keyboard. I don’t have a camera icon or a + sign. I’ve tried all the tips in other people’s responses (settings - all the shortcuts, predicative text are turned on). My phone is updated and it’s an iPhone 11. I’ve turned the phone off and on again and now I’ve run out of ideas!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you do not see the option to scan a document in your Notes app.
Does this happen when you are viewing your folders or within a note? Try going to another folder and adding a note to test. For example, if you are currently trying to add a note to your iCloud folder, try using another email account or the 'On My iPhone' folder if available. Use Notes on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch can help with that if needed.
If the same occurs in all folders, try tapping the "..." More button in the upper right corner. You should see a scan option there as well.

Thank you so much - I can scan if I use another folder. For some reason it won’t work if I use my gmail folder, but it does in the iCloud and On My iPhone folders. Your advice was fantastic😊
