My iPhone XS Max was in a puddle of water today and now it won’t work

After realizing after a few minutes that my iPhone was in a puddle of water today I quickly took it out and it was working just fine. I was at work so didn’t have time to really test it out but all day it’s been perfectly fine receiving calls and texts and everything. About an hour ago the screen stopped responding to any touch. I started messing with it and eventually found a way to turn it off and now I can’t get it back on

Water takes some time to destroy a phone, but it would appear that has happened to your phone. As deggie suggests you'll need to get an Out of Warranty replacement.

See this link which explains the price to replace your phone will be $599 (in the US) --> iPhone Repair - Official Apple Support
