It's an issue with importing from iMovie
Sorry, It wasn't a text generator. I sent the project from iMovie to FCP and added 3D text in the text inspector. The text imported from iMovie had a fade in and out. The imported text from iMovie is editable in the FCP text inspector, but there are no opacity settings to adjust or in the compositing: opacity in the clip. Also there are no dissolve transitions.
I had used Custom 3D text elsewhere in my project, so didn't realize these were imported text from iMovie. I've recreated the text with native FCP titles to remove the fade i/out.

I tried it with the basic Text - Centered in iMovie. When the project was sent, if you go to the Title inspector you can switch off/uncheck Build In and Build Out.
Custom 3D doesn't have a fade in or out. Do you mean some other title? If controls for fade in/out are available they're in the Title inspector, at the left end of the various inspectors.
Set the Fade Durations to 0. If there are Start and End Offset parameters offered, set those to 0 as well.
Could you tell me which title you used in iMovie? I'm curious why this is happening and would like to see what's causing it. Thanks.
