Hi! I've been noticing the past few weeks that when I plug in my 2020 Intel MacBook Air, it does not charge immediately, as in it does not register that a power source was plugged in. I tried resetting the SMC, but it only provides a temporary fix for, like, a day. Nothing seems to be lodged in the charger itself or the ports, and I'm suspecting an internal issue at this point. Any thoughts?
Try the following-
Check to see if that works. The reason I asked to uncheck Optimized Battery Charging is that when it is selecting then macOS decides when to begin charging your MacBook and stop charging it. All of that is based on macOS's knowledge of your usage habits.
If none of the above works then take advantage of the Apple 1YR Limited Warranty which should probably still be active on your 2020 MacBook Air. Have it examined at the Apple Store or at an Authorized Service Center.
