What should I do now?

I had purchased a product from a private merchant through Apple Pay about 2 months ago. It was $220. To make a long story short, I didn’t get the product and was blocked from communication with the merchant. After researching what to do, I disputed the charge with my bank. Since I “authorized” the purchase, they said that the transaction will still go through. Is there anything I can still do, whether through Apple’s end or anything? I obviously don’t wish to pay a couple hundred dollars if I’m getting nothing from it if there is something I can do about it. I have screenshots of the messages between me and the “merchant” if that helps things along. I just want to make sure I’m taking every opportunity before I phone it in as a loss.

Hello, and thanks for the reply.

I had already done this. I also filed for and was unsuccessful with a charge dispute through my bank that the card used is for. The problem is it isn’t a charge that I was not aware of. I attempted to buy something from someone, and they blocked communication with me on multiple modes and took off. It was a fraudulent merchant. However, since my bank viewed it as an authorized transaction, regardless if the merchant was fraudulent, they will still charge me for it. I wish to know if there is anything further that I can do, as I was a victim of a fraudulent seller.

I did not use Apple Cash. It was off of a debit card that is connected to Apple Pay. The scam itself was from a Twitter account, but the action itself happened in IMessage, as the transaction couldn’t be completed on in Twitter dm’s. Again, I filed for a charge dispute through Chase Bank, who the card is from. They said that since I authorized the purchase (meaning that I willingly sent money, no matter if the merchant was fraudulent), I would have to pay the debt. Can I still file for a dispute through Apple if I already have through Chase, or will it receive the same outcome? This also occurred about 2 months ago, as it takes 2 months to hear back from Chase, and I was under the impression that it would be taken care of through them as the merchant was obviously fraudulent. I just don’t know if Apple will produce the same outcome as the dispute for chase did, and I really don’t wish to drain $220 when there is something else I can do about it. Would it be worth contacting Apple for a dispute, even though chase denied my charge dispute?

I’m so sorry for taking your time so much, I just want to know what the next step is, if there is one. Either way, you’ve been/are being a huge help. I figured that Chase Bank would have accepted the charge dispute, considering the evidence that this merchant was fraud. I marked the transaction as fraud in the wallet app when it happened, but again, it was from a chase debit card, so I figured that it would be taken care of by them.
