FaceTime over Bluetooth speaker on iPad

I’m trying to use the Bluetooth speaker with FaceTime while on iPad, but it won’t work. It works fine when playing music from the iPad, but not FaceTime, so I know the Bluetooth speaker is paired fine. The iPad is 10.2-inch iPad Wi-Fi 32GB - Silver. Thank you for your help.

The volume of the internal speaker system can be increased to its available maximum using either the physical volume control buttons, or the software volume control.

Different models of iPad have different speaker systems. The iPad Air and Pro models have larger internal speakers - and offer improved quality and increased range of volume.

For private listening, you can use compatible EarBuds and microphone - which may make the FaceTime call easier to hear.
