Deleting everything on my old Mac

I'm having trouble deleting everything from my old Mac, I'm deleting everything on it to give it to someone else but it still has my photos on the old mac

I backed up everything with Time Machine, had a new system installed on my computer, and now I cannot find my photos on iPhoto.
