Hi John,

I am not sure what you mean by "Autosum"

Do you want to sum all the values in a table column and have the formula automatically expand as you add more rows?

Here is a table named "Fruit" with one Header Row (Row 1) and one Footer Row (Row 5).

Formula in Footer Cell A5: SUM(A)

You can fill that formula right to Footer Cell B5.

Click on any cell in Row 4 (a Body Row) and press return to insert another row.

Enter new values in Row 5

The formulas in the Footer row automatically expand to include all the Body Cells.

Please call back with questions.

Regards,

Ian.

Hi John,

Happy to help!

When I first used Numbers, I thought that it was a clone of Excel. However, after reading threads in this forum, I realised that Numbers is based around several independent tables, each with a purpose.

For your next trick, create another table that "pulls" the results of the Autosums.

Numbers has automatically changed the formula from Fruit::A$5 to Fruit::A$6

The charm of Numbers!

Happy Numbering,

Ian.
