Should I be worried about this "iBoot panic"?

Hey.

I just got a Mac mini m1 with 16gb of unified memory, and are so far happy with it. However, just about everytime I start my new Mac mini, and after I've logged in, I get this following error message:

"SOCD report detected: (iBoot panic)"

This doesn't happen when I restart, but nearly everytime I shut down my Mac, and turn on my Mac on again a few hours later, I get that message. I've tried to search this, but so far no luck. So I'm hoping to get a few answers here, or maybe even someone else is having this same problem.

My mac is updated my MacOS to the latest version.

EtreCheck might or might not show something, as this is a low-level panic.

I don’t see a culprit in what was posted, though there have been various crashes.

I can find all of one mention of that panic, that in an IRC discussion of porting Darwin, and of porting Linux to M1.

Contact Apple Support as this is a brand-new Mac, and discuss this panic with them.

Use the Get Support link in the upper right.

Let us know what happens too, please.

If this doesn’t work within 14 days of purchase, you can return for a refund—which is why I wouldn’t dawdling getting this sorted.

Hey. Just a little update.

As recommended, I contacted Apple Support and they told me to get the Mac in for repair. Bummer, only had it for like 4 days... But ok, if it's necessary, I'll do it.

Weirdly enough though, I ran Hardware Diagnostics on my Mac and it turned out to be all good. Well, I think I have no choice than to get it repaired.

I'll post an update when I know more.
